How do I prepare to schedule for next semester?
Bring an academic plan to meet with your advisor
Find out what day you are
allowed to schedule
for the next semester.
Please meet with your advisor at least a few days before your schedule date. Faculty calendars fill up fast, so you should contact them two weeks in advance to schedule your meeting.
Please come prepared
Consult the lists of required courses for graduation:
Bring to this meeting an academic plan for the courses you need and want to take for all of your remaining semesters at Penn State. This plan is not a commitment, but it is a crucial tool for us to evaluate your schedule for next semester together.
Consult the recommended academic plans. Don't panic if your plan differs from these---they are only guidelines. Use the worksheet to make your plan and bring it to your scheduling meeting!
Don't forget to plan for study abroad, internships, co-ops, undergraduate research, MCAT prep courses, and the like.
Finally, plan a schedule for next semester
When you know which courses you need to take next semester
in the context of your plan, you can begin trying
to make them all fit into a weekly schedule for the courses you need and want to take for ALL of your remaining semesters at Penn State. This plan is not a commitment, but it is a crucial tool for us to evaluate your schedule for next semester together.
